With the "Next-Generation" passenger aircrafts that have been introduced, the introduction of CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) was also introduced to the main components of the aircraft.
CFRP is tougher and lighter than aluminum alloys which are used for current aircraft, making these new aircrafts higher performing and more fuel efficient.
CFRP is a very difficult-to-machine material, thus the aerospace related manufacturers use OSG's diamond coated drills and end mills to cut this material.
